This hands-on session will cover all aspects of the superintendent search process - from the vacancy through the transition to a new leader. Participants will work in small groups to set criteria for the search and review the legality and relevancy of interview questions. Topics covered include the development of a search calendar, the application process, community and staff involvement, interviews, the board's role in selecting a finalist, reference checking, and negotiating the new contract.
