Session participants will learn about problem-based curriculum, which helps students develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills by being introduced to engineering design through an integrated STEM curriculum. Students work in teams to research a real-life problem, develop a solution and build, test and if necessary, re-design a prototype. Students must consider specified constraints and costs and are challenged with the task of developing a marketing presentation to sell their prototype. Teamwork and collaboration are re-enforced, as well as applications of math and science.
