Beyond the Bathroom Debate- An Expansive Trans Student Rights Policy

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Regardless of the political debate about transgender rights, schools are responsible for creating safe and supportive learning environments for kids who are in gender transition.
The Highland Park School District has created a nationally recognized policy that prohibits gender discrimination, protects transgender students' privacy, and promotes diversity training on sexual orientation and gender identity issues. This session will feature a parent, psychologist, board member, and superintendent, who will share the challenges and successes of writing and implementing the policy.
