Work-based learning is a strategy that offers multiple benefits for students, schools and the local community. This workshop will illustrate how high-quality work-based learning programs support career readiness by providing opportunities for students to explore a multitude of career interests, connect classroom learning to potential careers, develop personal, academic and career goals, and apply a high level of academic and/or technical skills. Establishing partnerships between schools and businesses also fosters confidence in the school system as practical and positive results are observed, and contributes to building a more productive local economy. Learn about the types of work-based learning programs that are available for your school district and how they can support student success through career awareness, exploration and preparation.
