21st Century Law Enforcement and Education Partnerships

Participants will learn a framework for establishing proactive and effective partnerships between police agencies and schools. Presenters will discuss the evolving role of law enforcement and security in schools, through the use of Class III school law enforcement officers and/or school resource officers. Topics covered will include include laws, roles and responsibilities, selection, training, local memorandum of agreement, and promising practices to facilitate effective school-based policing and security programs.
