The New Jersey Social and Emotional Learning Competencies

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

The New Department of Education recently released the New Jersey Social and Emotional Learning Competencies as a result of a two-year effort in collaboration with key stakeholders from across the state. The research-based competencies were developed to promote positive school climate, regular attendance, and academic achievement in all subject areas and across all grade levels. Social and emotional learning teaches students the skills necessary to manage emotions, set goals, maintain positive relationships and make responsible decisions. This session will share ideas and strategies for utilizing the competencies to help all students succeed in school and better prepare them for the demands of college, the workplace and life.
