Engaging Your School District and Community through Social Media

In today’s society, communication needs have increased and become more complex. School districts have a duty to educate and inform residents in order to foster public awareness and support for the district and its strategic initiatives— as well as for its students and employees. Schools need professionals to develop and execute integrated, multimedia, and face-to-face communication plans. Schools are busy places, and parents need a trusted source to find the right information –but information is not enough. Now schools need to facilitate two-way communication. During this program, the Bergenfield Public School District will share how the district handles the oversight of social media, as well as strategies for engaging the entire school community.
