As enrollment in the more rural parts of the state trends downward, school districts must become even more creative with plans to deliver high-quality programs on increasingly tight budgets. The board and administration of the Delaware Valley Regional High School District embraced these challenges not as a dilemma, but as an opportunity, and embarked on a comprehensive educational long-range planning process. This process tapped into an Advisory Task Force to help craft the plan, the results of which tied back to the district’s Strategic Plan, and helped direct the board’s focus in areas such as curriculum development, finances, and facilities. This session will provide an overview of the process used by Del Val and will highlight some key steps along the way.
