STEM programs emerged from the realization that we lack students who are pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering, and math. STEM programs often begin with the "stuff" of STEM: robotics, roller coasters, 3D virtual reality goggles, and more. While these may be fun, they will not prepare students for STEM careers. Even beyond problem-solving with the "stuff" of STEM, schools must build in students the "mindsets" of the scientist, technologist, engineer, and mathematician. Preparing students for STEM careers, a rapidly growing job sector, represents a moral imperative to provide students with increased opportunities for their future. Come learn more about how to develop these mindsets while creating engaging and powerful STEM programs and schools.
